There is only one genus of feral Thrift family (Armeria) plants in Finland, represented by thrift itself, but there are many subspecies. Of course there are many more members of the family that are cultivated in gardens at least, e.g. sea-lavenders (members of genus Limonium). In southern parts of Sweden and Norway there are two feral members of sea-lavenders. In a global context in the Thrift family there are 25 genera and 500 species.
